Apart from standard Tote betting there are also various multiple bets that they offer which are very popular. Below, we will explain their most popular bets below.
What are Tote Bets?
Tote Placepot
Probabaly the most popular of the Tote bets, The Placepot can be played at every race meeting in the United Kingdom. To win the Placepot, you have to select a horse that gets placed in all of the first 6 races at that meeting. You can have as many permutations as want, but the more horses selected the more it will cost or the lower the stake. If you were to select just 1 horse in each race then you can place just £1 or less or more if you want to and then when the placpot pool is announced at the end of the day you would multiply it by your stake. It is worked out to a £1 stake. To wwork out the permutations you multiply how many sleections you have made in each race. Please see below as an example
2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 – Two horses per race (£64 for £1 lines)
3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 – Three horses per race (£729 for £1 lines)
2 x 1 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 2 – Various horses per race (£48 for £1 lines)
By adding more horses in each race, your layout can increase significantly, along wth your chances of a winnng bet.
Tote Quadpot
Similar to the Placepot, but as you many have guessed from the name of this bet, you only need to select placed horses in 4 of the races at a meeting. Easier to win but the rewards are often much less. The 4 races are races 3-6.
Tote Jackpot
This bet works exactly the same as the Placepot BUT you have to choose the winning horse in the first 6 races. There will only be one race meeting each day where the Jackpot can be played. Similar to when playing the lottery, if the Jackpot is not won, then it rolls over to the next meeting. It has occasionally become a pool of over £1 million.
With all 3 of these bets it is important to note that if any of your chosen horses are non runners then you automatically go on to the SP favourite of that race.
